Dia De Muertos At Pearl

by Anthony Sharp

Pearl invites you to a community remembrance and celebration of Día de los Muertos. Honor the lives of loved ones who have passed with ofrendas (altars), music, art installations, children’s activities and more.

Pearl will display multiple altars as well as art installations from October 28th – November 6th. The altars will be created by local artists and institutions and will also include a community altar for guests to participate in. Throughout Pearl we will also have a Spritlandia Calaveras from Johhny Hernandez’s personal collection and four unique Catrinas designed and created by San Antonio-based artist Regina Moya.

In addition to the displays on property, Pearl will also host a night of remembrance and celebration on Thursday, November 2nd, featuring live performances, music, children’s activities and more. Wooden guitars and calavera banks will be available for kids to paint and take home presented by the Mexican Consulate (while supplies last). The DoSeum will also be leading an interactive kids’ activity and face painting will be available for all ages.
